  Select Your Hazardous Area Classification

Area classifications are used to define the explosive or ignitable substances that are present in the atmosphere.

Gas Class I or Zone 1
Dust Class II or Zone 21 or 22
Gas and Dust Class I/II or Zone 1/Zone 21 or 22
General Purpose For positive pressurization, non-hazardous locations only

Select Your Division/Zone of the Area

Divisions and Zones are used to define the degree of hazard by determining the explosive or ignitable substance's expected concentration in the atmosphere.

Division 1 Contains substances under normal conditions
Division 2 Contains substances under abnormal conditions
Zone 1 Gas, contains substances under normal conditions (intermittently)
Zone 2 Gas, contains substances under normal conditions
Zone 21 Dust, contains substances under normal conditions (intermittently)
Zone 22 Dust, contains substances under normal conditions
Zone 1 & Zone 21 Gas and Dust under normal conditions (intermittently)
Zone 2 & Zone 22 Gas and Dust under normal conditions
General Purpose Positive pressurization, non-hazardous locations only

Select the Equipment Rating Inside Your Enclosure

This is the rating of the products that you want to protect from the environment in Step 2. It is the environment within the enclosure.

Division 2 All equipment is Division 2 Certified
Zone 2 All equipment is Zone 2 Certified
Zone 22 All equipment is Zone 22 Certified
Zone 1 & Zone 21 All equipment is Zone 1 and Zone 21 Certified
General Purpose Non-classified, non-certified equipment is included in the enclosure

Select the Group Outside Your Enclosure

Groups are used to define substances by rating their explosive or ignitable nature, in relation to other known substances.

A-D North American Designation for Groups: Acetylene, Hydrogen, Ethylene & Propane
C-D North American Designation for Groups: Ethylene & Propane
F-G North American Designation for Groups: Coal Dust & Grain Dust
E-G North American Designation for Groups: Metal Dust, Coal Dust & Grain Dust
IIC IEC Gas Group Equivalent for Acetylene
IIB + H2 IEC Gas Group Equivalent for Hydrogen
III IEC Dust & Fibers
A-G IIC III Inclusive of A-G, IIC and III

  Select Model

Following is a short list of models which are included in the configuration program. Generally 1000 series units are USA only (UL and FM certified) and 3000 and 6000 series are international units carrying a ATEX and/or IEC certification.

1001A-CI Type Y/Z, Manual Purge, Gas Only, UL and FM Certified
3003 Type Y/Z, Manual Purge, Gas Only, UL, FM and ATEX Certified
3004 Type Y/Z, Manual Purge, Gas Only, UL, FM and ATEX Certified
6000 Type X, Fully Automatic, Gas & Dust, UL, FM and ATEX Certified
1001A-CII Type Y/Z, Manual Purge, Dust Only, UL and FM Certified
1001B-CII Type Y/Z, Manual Purge, Dust Only, UL and FM Certified
1001C-CII Type Y/Z, Manual Purge, Dust Only, UL and FM Certified

  Select Your Pressure Switch

According to standards, there must be a visual or audible operation alarm in the area should pressurization fail. If this alarm is not already included in the hazardous area, Pepperl+Fuchs purge and pressurization systems are available with this capability.

Less Pressure Switch LPS, no low pressure alarm contact with panel
With Pressure Switch WPS, low pressure alarm for gas groups C-G
With Pressure Switch WPSA, low pressure alarm for groups A-G plus ATEX [pz] applications
General Purpose Switch GPS, Non-hazardous locations only
No Switch NS, No switch required

  Select Your Vent Configuration

The 6000 series uses a vent that can be mounted in any orientation. For all other vents correct orientation is required to assure operation and so in all cases, these vents must be operated upright.

EPV...00 For top mount
EPV...90 For side mount, includes an elbow for mounting in 90 degree orientation
